The Blind Side

Well, nothing to do with this photo .. .haha.

I just finished a movie The Blind Side which is sort of a motivational movie...

It begins with a homeless (or says abandoned) black man

named Michael grown up in Hurt Village.

His nickname is Big Mike, though I have no idea why he doesn't like it.

Maybe it's because he dislikes that everyone just focuses on his figure ?

And what I think kinda interesting is that the boy playing basketball with Michael

just disappeared after Michael got accepted to the christian school.

(I only know the other one doesn't have enough athletic ability.)

I don't kow why but....I really like this kind of sad movie.

touching... ? maybe.

Especially the ordeal they suffer is what I cannot even imagine.

I think it's, to certain extent, related to my suggestible personality ?

I realize that I'm a person easily getting into others' shoes.

That's to say, I'm kinda sentimental. I remember that when I was a child, in every summer,

I went to Tainan playing with my bro and cousins.

When it's time to say goodbye, I just can't help crying, every single time.

Similarly, even now, whenever I get to L.A. to meet up with my sister, her husband,

and her cats, I must, with no reason, burst into tears at airport when I get to leave.

Well, I felt so touched when the woman Leigh Anne was willing to

accept such a dirty, needy black unconditionally in a chilly night.

Without a moment hesitation !

That suggests a saying to me that I heard in Faith Community Church, L.A.

The pastor there once said, " You can give without love, yet you can't love without giving".

How truthful is it!

The woman and all of her family, by providing much love, help him to fulfill his

potential, and rebuild his losing confidence.

By the way, though the little boy in the film is kinda ugly,  his naive behavour and

innocence do make the movie more warm.

In the end of the story, Michael identifies himself with the family.

It's the identification that makes him successful.

He eventually found that he doesn't have to comfrom or to cater to others.

He trys to be himself. He said, "Shall you always do things that others tell you to do?"

The school he decided to go is not for others but himself.

The lesson I learned from it is that we should never want others to identify with ourselves

when we didn't. Just like the coach, firstly he pursuaded everyone into approving of Michael's

entering application since he thought Michael got to be a big help to the school team.

The coach soon got tired of Michael when not seeing much progress made.

However, Michale did a really good job when seeing the coach had a conflict

against the referee. The coach said, "players are just like my sons".

In short, what's crucial is the identification.
