Jeremy Lin, Linsanity, Lincredible, Linternational....,etc. are undoubtedly the most frequently discussed words around the world lately.
It’s only been about three weeks, yet even those who occasionally follow the NBA games assuredly know who Jeremy Lin is now! Though he might not be the best player in the league, at least yet to be, plenty of his characteristics are still worth learning. He really reminds me of a lot of things.
After tons of coverage of so-called Lin-mania, people started wondering
what on earth makes him such successful and extraordinary. And in my opinion I
think there’re three things of his that make him so good --- humbleness, endeavor,
and faith. Every time when Knicks won the game, Jeremy always gives the credit
to his teammates on the post-game press conference. Even though he does have
the ability to shoot, he said he enjoys being a good passer more. The selfless
characteristic makes him popular in the team. That’s to say, he gets greatly
along with his teammates. Besides his humbleness, his endeavor plays an
important role. According to his roommate in Harvard, he put much effort in
improving his demerits. He always tries very hard to correct the mistakes he just
made. The third which is also the most important thing is his faith. He has
faith not only in his teammates but also in his heavenly father. He believes in
God and that brings him great power. Many non-Christian friends of mine feel
the differences by means of the example of Jeremy Lin and get interested in the
belief. Only having the three things above doesn’t promise to make your life as
successful as his. Willpower is also indispensable. Success is for those who
are well-prepared and insist to the end.
I believe
the greatest difficulties are yet to come, but I also believe with the three
important things he has he’s able to surmount all challenges that lie ahead. There
will come a lot for sure though. Let’s keep having our eyes on him, seeing what
will happen next. I hope there will be more and more people including me
touched and start making their lives restored.
Have faith in God, Jesus answered. (Mark 11:22)
This is the best answer to every difficulty.
